Well here we are almost 3 years after this build.
I just realized that I hadn't included the final dimensions here!
The Stadium is 454 Blocks Wide, 754 Blocks Long and 127 Blocks high from the foundation (3 levels underground) to the top.
Sadly I never went back in to finish the last details.
I took a year off MC and haven't touched my Classic server since I came back.
Maybe one day i'll load it back up and finish the details.
But more likely i'll simply rebuild it in Retail.

Step 9: Chairs and Entrances
So This is what the Last Expansion was all about!
It was all to get this guy in the right place.
Once I had the Entrances properly spaced around the stadium, It was also time for some chairs!

the Blue and Grey (Nosebleeds) sections are on the upper balcony.
That will be done sometime in the future.
That is all for now!
Step 10 was to add Exterior Details: These include, Exterior Walls, Entrances and emergency exits, Elevator shafts, player and VIP entrances and a Loading Dock at the back of the stadium.
I haven't taken screen shots of those yet, but I will shortly and will post them up soon!
Step 8: Sudden Expansion!
Ok Those of you who think I have too much time on my hands, or no life should turn away now. :P
This Picture Says it All.
After all that work on the stands. And after 2 Revisions I had to do it again...
See, once I started adding the Entrances on the stands, I realized that the symetry was off and that my entrances were going to be crooked.
So I deftly backed up the map file and started dis-assembling half my stadium to add 50 feet to either dimension
This time around though I had a lot of help from Copy & Paste.
I first started out by copying the external wall and pasting it on the new boundary.
This led to some more excavation.
This is actually where I stopped to take some screenshots of the dirt.
To Excavate, I cut the area to clear into smaller sections, then used "Fill Air"to clear out the sections.
The fill command fills the blocks in in waves so you get an effect like this where the blocks are disappearing a few at a time, but leaving random blocks behind until the next pass
Finally after a few more hours, I had finished re-building the stands!
This time the field centered onto the middle of a section rather than on a frameline.
You can see in this pic the extra space this expansion made for the field level.
The green field was the original field size while the grey border around it is the space gained by the expansion. This also allows for a european Football Field as well, Though I haven't made one to add to this stadium yet.

Step 7: Filling in some Detail
With my Stand design Finalized and The Expansion completed, It was time to add some finish to the structure.
I started by Adding some extra support to the external wall. Afterall, This was big and a stadium has Supports all throughout.
So The frame got some extra work, and I added a floor between the 1st and 2nd Balcony.
Then it was time to add some "Concrete" to fill in the structure and cover up the framing.
This gave the underside a beefier look, But un-fortunately hid all the frame work.

I may decide to leave a section un-covered to show the framework design but for now this will have to do.
Step 6: Sudden Expansion! (2nd Balcony)
Now the observant among you may have noticed that the last image in step 5 had an extra level in the stands.
See when I create, my Designs evolve while I am building them, Changing as I add a feature or fix a fault.
while I was building the last corner in the first version of the Stands, I realized that I had completely forgotten the Box Seats and Press Level! I couldn't leave out the VIP Section! so I started another prototype section to see how a mini balcony would look under the top one.
About this time, I got tired of running back and forth drawing lines to build the stands, so at this point I added Cut and Paste to the macros on my G13 keypad and started using templates.
That made the sudden Expansion go MUCH Faster than you would think.
Before Long I was back to finishing the Corners. This time with a 2nd Balcony in the Mix!
On To Step 7!

As I've said, My Designs are fluid; When I had finished the first expansion of the Stands, I stood on top and realized that you couldn't see the whole field from that vantage point.
So Once again I tested a section of stands, this time with a steeper angle of ascent. this took away some space for chairs, but gave a couple extra steps. and added another floor to the height of the stadium.
On To Step 7!
Step 5: Corners!
Next it was time for some more Framing.
As I wanted this to be a Full Stadium and not just stands around a field, I had to close in the corners to complete the stands and surround the field completely.
This was pretty fun and I got to experiment with a few ways to join the sides together.
First off was to frame the floors and major points of the frame.
Then came the support frame for the stands themselves.
I put a frame under every 2nd level of
the stands which was less crowded than with it under every step.

Step 4: Building the Stands
Once I had the first section completed, It was time to frame the rest of the stadium and get my first Real look at what my Project was going to look like.
So despite having Copy & Paste in my box of tricks, I built most of the first set of Stands on my own. This was only shortly after I had upgraded my server to MCLawls which added a whole whopping bunch of shortcut commands. Up until this project, I had been plotting out corners in game, then switching to the editor to fill in walls and such. But with the new server I could do it all in game!
But of course, at this point I was still getting used to the new features and was happy to build these in game which was still much faster than the old server.
